Seniors on the Move

When we started working on this project we met a few baby boomers. Some felt honoured when we referred to them as seniors, there were some who felt insulted when we called them aged, elderly seemed acceptable to most. But does it really matter what word we use? The fact remains that we are getting older and our physical capabilities are diminishing after the age of 60.

“I’d rather die than use any of such products” was said by one of the baby boomers. Why is it difficult to accept the reality?

“I am not stable when I go for my walk. I need someone’s shoulder for support”. We are in India where there are still quite a few people lending their hands to prevent us from falling but gradually we are approaching to times where people will have no time to look left or right. And frankly speaking 24 hours of dedicated attention is next to impossible. Care givers also doze off.

It is not difficult to be independent and not ask for help in day to day affairs. All we need to do is accept our problem and find a solution. To think that my son or daughter will take care of me is justified but impractical in today’s times.

Why do we need to depend on anyone and compromise our dignity when we do have a solution!!!

All we need to do is perceive the problem, accept it and find a solution to it and team Elder Ease feels privileged to be able to assist.
